By using CarServicePal ("the app", "we", "us"), you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. What this is

CarServicePal is a vehicle maintenance tracking tool: log service history, track costs, get maintenance reminders, and use an optional AI assistant for questions about your vehicle.

Not a mechanic. The AI assistant and maintenance schedules are informational only. They can help you understand symptoms and prepare questions for a professional, but they are not a substitute for a qualified mechanic's inspection or diagnosis. If a symptom concerns you (unusual noises, warning lights, safety-related issues), have your vehicle inspected by a professional rather than relying on the app's suggestions.

2. Accounts and guest use

You can use CarServicePal for one vehicle with no account, or sign in with Internet Identity for a private account with unlimited history, backups, and Pro features. You're responsible for your Internet Identity credentials and for keeping your device secure — we cannot recover access on your behalf if you lose your passkey, since we never hold it ourselves.

3. Free tier and Pro subscription

The free tier (unlimited service logging for one vehicle, guest or signed in) is free with no time limit.
Pro is a subscription — $9/month or $49/year, billed via Stripe, auto-renewing until canceled — and adds multiple vehicles, reminders, and dated confirmation emails.
Cancel anytime from your account settings; access continues until the end of the period you already paid for.
Because Pro can be evaluated on the free tier first, we don't offer refunds on subscription charges already processed. If something went wrong with a charge, email help@carservicepal.com and we'll sort it out.

4. Your data

You own the vehicle and maintenance data you enter. Signed-in data is stored on-chain, tied to your Internet Identity principal, as described in the Privacy Policy. Guest data lives only in your browser and is your responsibility to back up (export a JSON backup anytime) — we can't recover it if it's lost from your device.

5. Acceptable use

Don't abuse the service, attempt to access another user's data, reverse-engineer the app for resale, or resell access to it. Keep your Internet Identity to yourself — one account is for one person.

6. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its maintenance suggestions or AI responses will be accurate or complete for your specific vehicle. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

7. Changes and termination

We may update the service and these terms; material changes will be noted here with a new "last updated" date. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms. You can stop using the service anytime.
